Experience The County

Canadian Experience Fund Vouchers & Grants

Application Deadline: January 15, 2021

In the wake of COVID-19, businesses working in the tourism sector have shown tremendous resilience. The ability within our communities to adjust and pivot has been remarkable. Though these times have been challenging, the opportunity to rebuild tourism in a way that’s stronger, more resilient, sustainable and re-imagined has presented itself.

To get there, Prince Edward County and Community Futures have partnered to continue the momentum for experience development opportunities. Experiential tourism can help flatten boom-bust cycles of high season-low season visits by encouraging visits from higher-spending, engaged and return clientele throughout the year.

In 2020, the Prince Edward County hosted three Experiential Tourism 101 workshops, building on earlier workshops and a retreat.

Vouchers & Grants

Participants in those PEC experiential tourism workshops and retreat are being invited to apply for a Canadian Experience Fund voucher and/or grant up to a total of $5,000 intended to support enterprises as they build back better and design, develop, and promote experiences.

This support is intended to be used for the following three activities:

  • Video content marketing for visitor experiences;
  • Start up costs associated with offering experiences;
  • Digital tools required to offer safe experiences.
Vouchers
  • Vouchers are to be used towards video content marketing, and are redeemable with a preferred video production company selected by Prince Edward County.
