Brad spent 15 years in the financial services industry, including more than a decade at Scotiabank. He has been a small business advisor and financial advisor and was responsible for risk management for a $20 billion small business lending portfolio. At Scotia, Brad led the development and commercial implementation of the bank’s first integration with a fintech partner, Kabbage, a small business lending platform acquired in 2020 by American Express. As a champion of internal innovation at Scotia, Brad worked with venture capital funds and early stage enterprises and provided thought leadership on digital transformation for the bank. In 2019, Brad returned home to Eastern Ontario and took over the family farm, beginning a new chapter working on community-level initiatives, including an $18-million project to bring an end long-standing boil-water advisories on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, and provided safe, clean drinking water to households on the First Nations territory.
